I believe that making small improvements is 100% more effective when trying to achieve a large goal. When improving daily habits it creates a system which you will be more inclined to stick to more than when trying to achieve your goal quickly. For example, when trying to lose weight a long term approach is much more sustainable than a short one; going to the gym for hours and extreme dieting is unhealthy and can result in long term effects such as, burning out. Even if you do see results quick, those results are unlikely to stick with you, because you built your system on a short term basis and those habits will not stick with you in the long run. Overall, building a system that you are able to work continuously on will ensure you that the goals that you are striving for you will reach and will stick with you in the future.

To achieve what we truly want in life we need to create goals. James Clear believes that creating goals are not the most important when wanting to achieve what you want in life, instead you need to focus more on how you will achieve that goal and create a system; I would say I fully agree with that statement. When setting goal I usually do create a process but I don't 100% of my effort into the steps I take towards that goal. Clear believes that focusing on bettering your process will make your goals more achievable. In my personal experience when focusing on a goal it can get overwhelming, but focusing on each step seems more manageable. I believe that his method to achieve what he wants is much more effective than the conventional goals setting process many of us fall into and end up failing. The concept of focusing on the process and improving from there is great for long term goals because it instills habits that will keep you on track. It also helps with coming back from failure because when you fail and set the same goal without fixing and putting effort to change you are bound to fail once more. James Clear brings up some great points about achieving what you want in life, focus on the process and not the goal.
